A tragedy of international significance that occurred on the eve of the legendary Cathedral, left no one indifferent – model Natalia Vodianova and her husband visited Notre Dame.
Heartbreaking picture: the whole world watched as a terrible fire trying to destroy one of the main shrines of Christianity, the incomparable architectural masterpiece – the Eiffel tower. Weeping people on the streets of Paris, cries of desperation and prayers on his knees – this dark day will forever remain in the history of France. Millions of ordinary users and celebrities via social media expressing sympathy and solidarity with the French, which nearly lost its main attraction. Notre Dame de Paris was witness to all of French history – it was built over 900 years ago, has survived the revolution and two world wars when the bombs went off right next to him, but the Cathedral remained intact. Now firefighters managed to defend the stone walls and vaults, but the spire, clock and a unique roof is lost forever.
Today, the site of the tragedy was visited by Natalia Vodianova and her billionaire husband Antoine Arnault. Antoine’s father, the owner of LVMH Bernard Arnault yet made the major donation for the restoration of the Cathedral is 200 million euros. “In a sign of solidarity and deep sorrow at the national tragedy, the family Arnault and LVMH group companies not only donating the sum of 200 million euros to Fund the reconstruction of the Cathedral, but also offer the state government any assistance with their best teams, including professionals, creative, architectural, and financial expertise to help in raising funds and rebuilding efforts” wrote Vodianova in his blog. Patrons and people just gathered more than 700 million euros.
The restoration, at a very rough estimate of experts, can be evaluated almost at one billion euros. Many relics have been saved – in particular, miraculously survived and didn’t melt the magnificent stained glass Windows of the Cathedral, the most valuable of which is called Northern rose, created in 1255.
