Recently, the Minister of culture Vladimir Medina made at VGIK with a lecture on “Movement of Russian cinema. The results of 2012-2017”. The official told about the main achievements of the industry over the past few years, and the prospects of its further development.
After his speech, Medina answered questions from students and teachers. “How do you feel about the scandal that happens in the theater Dzhigarkhanyan? What is the future for this theatre?” – asked his listeners. As it turned out, the Minister is aware of the situation and finds her out of the ordinary.
“God forbid, I did not refer to the Dzhigarkhanyan theater, so I’ll leave this question without comments. This is not the theatre of the Federal government, fortunately, in our theaters, such things are impossible. It is necessary in Moscow to deal with this. To be honest, I drew attention to the situation in the theater of the Department of culture of Moscow, the Minister of culture of Moscow [Alexander Kibovsky]. I hope they will take informed decision,” said Medina.
Earlier Armen Dzhigarkhanyan has officially made a request to the Department of culture of Moscow with the request to protect his theater from an ongoing scandal. The actor and Director has sent an appeal, in which he said that speculators interfere with the normal work of his team.
In November last year the Minister of Moscow government, head of the Department of cultural heritage Alexander Kibovsky said that the theater Dzhigarkhanyan risk on the background of the recent resonant events. Such opinion the official has developed after talking with Armen Borisovich and Elena Gilmanova, acting General Director of the cultural institutions.
According to Kibovsky, for theatre there would be a risk if Dzhigarkhanyan was not able to work and self-actualize. However, the official was convinced that the Director is comfortable to work in existing conditions, and he managed to build a good relationship with his colleague Elena Gilmanova that contribute to the further development of cultural institutions.
“For theater I do not see any threats. But that is not the questions of the theatrical companies, in this case it’s personal Armen Borisovich, and in this case we could neither influence nor comment on anything in here can not” – said Kibovsky told reporters.
Recall that in October last year, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan was admitted to the hospital and expressed indignation at the actions of his wife Vitalina Tsymbalyuk-Romanovskaya, who served as Director of his theater. Later the couple divorced, and the pianist was accused of violating privacy. Lawyer Armen Borisovich said that it collected and disseminated information about her husband without his consent.
