Angela Ponce
On the weekend in the Bangkok exhibition centre Impact Arena held a beauty contest “Miss universe — 2018”. The winner of the title was the representative of the Philippines Catriona gray. She received the crown from the hands of the winner of the last year, born in South Africa of demi-Leigh Nel Peters. Ponce also expressed his opinions about former co-organizer of the contest “Miss universe” Donald trump. He at the time took action to prohibit transgender people to serve in the U.S. army.
It would be a victory for human rights. Transgender women were harassed for so long. If they will allow me to get the crown, it will mean that transgender women are women like all others. I will never try to change someone else’s culture or lifestyle. But competing, I will make transgender people more visible to all. This is a big step. I’m not nervous before a beauty contest. I’m just a little excited.
Recall that Ponce was born a man, but as a child I realized that he considered himself a woman. At 16 she began hormone therapy, and at 24, completed correcly floor, making the operation. She chose a career as a model. In 2015, Angela participated in the contest “Miss Spain”, but lost to the inhabitant of Barcelona Miree Lalaguna. Two years later she won the title “Miss Spain — 2018”, leaving behind more than 20 participants of the beauty contest. Then Angela called her victory historic and added that the winner’s crown adorned her head on the last day of the month “pride”, which is celebrated in June by representatives of sexual minorities in Spain and other countries of the world.
