On the eve of the closing ceremony of the Cannes film festival, which was declared the winners. For nearly two weeks, the jury (headed by President cate Blanchett) best were chosen, causing serious nervous all the nominees. You should start with the main thing: not a single Russian film, and they were presented in the main program two: “IKE” Sergei dvortsevoi and “Summer” by Kirill Serebrennikov, was not awarded the “Golden palm”.

Two more awards, not less honorable, was received by the Directors — spike Lee for his film “Black all kinds of things over” (Grand Prix of the festival) and Nadine Lightweight for “Capernaum” (jury prize).

But the prize for the best female role went to Samal Eslyamova. During the ceremony she went up on stage and thanked the film’s Director, Ayka — Sergey dvortsevoi: “Sergey, thank you very much. It is a great honor.” The film, which brought Samal victory, tells about the difficult fate of female migrants from Kyrgyzstan (actually Eslyamova originally from Kazakhstan).
The best actor was Italian Marcello Fonte, who played in the movie about the owner of a dog grooming — “Dogmen”. The Director of the film was made by Matteo Garrone, which in previous years has twice won the Grand Prix at the Cannes festival.
By the way, before the jury honored the short film Igor Poplaukhin — Calendar. The work of the Russian Director took second place in the competition, the cinéfondation.
Roma Zver, who arrived in Cannes with a film crew of the film, will also return home with a victory. The musician received an honorary prize: written the soundtrack to the film Serebrennikov was recognized as the best. Director, recall, is still under house arrest in connection with the judicial proceedings on the case of plunder of budgetary funds.
