Hedi Slimane leaves the post of creative Director of the fashion house Saint Laurent Paris. About it it became known from official reports from the representatives of the legendary brand. The name of the successor of Slimane is already known.

Hedi Slimane led the brand since 2012. In his new position, he immediately introduced some new rules. First, cut the brand name Yves Saint Laurent to Saint Laurent Paris, explaining that he wants to create avant-garde clothing for young people, not ossified couture. His next step was to produce a collection in the style of grunge, which does not jibe with the image of luxury and refined client Yves Saint Laurent. Four years later, Slimane was forced to leave his post. The official reason – disagreements with management.

According to media, the contract Hedi Slimane with the company that owns the brand, expired at the end of March. The designer and his employer simply couldn’t negotiate mutually beneficial terms of extension of cooperation, and therefore were forced to abandon it. What will the Slimane after stepping down as creative Director of Saint Laurent, is still unknown. But, I think, for a long time without work he won’t sit.

The name of his successor is already known: to them became a Belgian of Italian descent, Anthony Vaccarello. He will take up his duties in may of this year. In autumn, we will see his debut collection for Saint Laurent.
