Luxurious and stylish appearance of the interior does not depend on the area of the room. Small size living room is clean and uncluttered room in which each subject is necessary and plays a specific role. Minimalism does not mean boring and impractical things — limited space allows you to dream and to create highly sophisticated interiors.

We asked the designer Svetlana Yurkova, how to arrange small living room, with the result that she recommended 10 rules that should be considered when designing such facilities.

1. For small rooms not required little things

A small area does not require you to use only small furniture. For modern living room is a comfortable corner sofa. There is also a model-transformers, provided a bed. It’s much more effective than small and homely couch. The simplicity of the products and their light are fit into any interior.

2. Organization of effective storage

A small square often hosts limit the storage space. Why should make maximum use of useful space of the room. Ottomans, shelving and cabinets can intelligently hide a lot of things from the eye, and built-in storage is not visually increase the space.

3. More transparency

6. Furniture with legs

7. Open shelves

For small living rooms perfectly suited to open shelving and modern shelves. Closed cabinets and showcases visually reduce the space. However, you should not drive these shelf things — it creates a mess.

8. Correctly use the darker elements

Try to abandon the dark furniture in the living room. However, a small, bright rooms such elements can be used to maintain balance. In some cases, dark furniture makes room, than you can use to increase its size.

9. Loyal assistant — a mirror

The mirror though is not furniture, but it’s the most reliable way to visually increase the room. Its location in front of the window allows also to increase the illumination of the interior.

10. Don’t limit yourself

In small rooms and I want to place furniture close to the wall, trying to increase the usable living space. However, as practice shows, sometimes it only reduces the area. Experiment — put on the sofa close to the wall, and organize them for storage.
