Vitaly Shapovalov, which was part of the troupe of the Taganka Theater, has died at the age of 78 years. The status of the artist was assessed as extremely heavy, and he was treated at the hospital. Colleagues have opened a fundraiser, as he faced a long recovery after surgery. The news of the death of the artist appeared on the official page of theatre in a social network.
“The theatre is in mourning… died Soviet and Russian film and theater actor, people’s artist of the Russian Federation – Vitaly Shapovalov. The artist died at the age of 78 years at the hospital. The last few days Vitaly was in a critical condition after undergoing surgery,” reads the post.

Shapovalov graduated from drama school named Shchukin, and then he was accepted into the troupe of the theatre. He served in the Moscow theater on Taganka and Sovremennik. The actor played performances “the dawns here are quiet”, “Pugachev”, “the Master and Margarita”, “Boris Godunov”, “Crime and punishment”, “Tartuffe” and others. On account of the artist shooting dozens of pictures, including he was involved in two seasons of the popular series “Kamenskaya”.
The last few years Vitaly Vladimirovich is very ill. It was reported that he underwent three surgeries on the hip joint and was in intensive care.
