The actor will receive the award for outstanding contribution to the development of cinema.
May 28 at the documentary film Centre the organizing Committee of the 4th Moscow Jewish film festival will present Vladimir Mashkov Honorary prize for contribution to the development of Jewish cinema in Russia.
After the ceremonial awarding will take place the premiere of the film “Papa”.
The main role of Abram Schwartz was originally the thesis work of Vladimir Mashkov in the school-Studio of the Moscow art theater Studio of Oleg Tabakov. Then Tabakov said: “Volodya, and entered into the life and the theatre, knowing the negative side of life and theatre. He started hard, was expelled from school again. Later it was decided to film the play. The working title of the film was listed as “sailor’s silence”. But the Director and the starring Vladimir Mashkov changed it to “Dad.” Today it sounds especially symbolic. And in 2004 Mashkov explained by the fact that this option better reflects the content of the film, reduced to one simple idea: children are often very late to realize the role of parents in their lives.
