Stars of the Russian musicals have selected the best of the best.

Ekaterina Guseva, Valeria Lanskaya, recently starred in the title role in the new musical “Anna Karenina”, celebrated their professional holiday with industry colleagues — singers, Directors, producers and composers. The whole evening star of musicals performed cover versions of arias from popular musicals, danced for each other, uttered from the stage, gratitude and, of course, toast!

And the culmination of the evening according to the tradition was the presentation of unique awards — “Favorite artist of the artists” and “Favorite artist of artists.” Winners — Igor balalaeva and Ekaterina Gusev — chose the artists themselves, by voting for colleagues directly during the event.

“For each artist the day of the musical is one of the most important holidays of the year. Great happiness that we have the opportunity to meet together and to spend time with our dear colleagues,” — said Lansky. And Irina Medvedev said: “the Musical is a special genre, it is perceived as a celebration, and artists musicals – people-holiday!”

The event also determine the winner of the “Legend of the musical” and “Honorary friend of the musical”. In the first category were honored composer Roman Ignatiev is the author of music to such
popular musicals, like “Anna Karenina”, “Graf Orlov” and “Monte Cristo.” And “Honorary friend of the musical” in
this year was the journalist Vadim Vernik.
First Day of the musical was celebrated in 2009 on the initiative of Vladimir Tartakovsky and Alexei Bolonin, producers of the musical “Anna Karenina”, “Graf Orlov” and “Monte Cristo.” Over the years, the Day of the musical has evolved from a small festival at a meeting of the creators of the musicals, friends, and fans this stage of the genre.
