A frame from a new commercial for Dolce & Gabbana
Today, China has planned a Grand show of Dolce & Gabbana, which in the end did not take place due to the fact that residents of China have accused the representatives of the world famous brand of racism. The scandal was triggered by the publication of a video announcing the upcoming show in various social networks.
Three short videos from an advertising campaign called DG Loves China Asian model tries to eat typical Italian dishes — pasta, pizza and cannoli — with the help of chopsticks and struggling to cope with this task. The picture is completed by an ironic voice-over that in its comments, asked the girl, not too big for her cannoli.

It was assumed that the videos will make it clear that the dialogue of cultures is possible and necessary, however, turned out differently: the Chinese have considered the idea of the nation’s stereotypical and offensive, and the ad campaign called racist.
The yard is almost 2019! Why such a big brand, there still remain stereotypes that they’re making fun of?— ask users.
After the outbreak of unrest scandalous videos were promptly removed from the Chinese social network Sina Weibo, and later the representatives of the brand were cancelled, and the show itself (they announced that the show is postponed indefinitely).
The conflict has also exacerbated surfaced on the web correspondence alleged co-founder of the brand, Stefano Gabbana to one of the Internet users. It Stefano admits that absolutely does not believe the rollers are racist and calls China “ignorant, dirty and smelly mafia”.
