Actor Will Smith, 53, is retiring from the Academy.

The reason was the brawl at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony “Oscar” on the night of March 28.

Recall that Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock, who joked unsuccessfully about the wife of an American movie star.

Immediately after that, the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts began disciplinary proceedings against Smith. The document states that the review is being conducted due to “inappropriate behavior.”

The decision that Smith was leaving the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was supposed to be made on April 18, but the actor did it earlier, himself.

“I am resigning my membership in Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. I will try to ensure that violence never again takes precedence over reason, ”Smith says in an interview with Deadline.

In addition, he noted that he was “heartbroken” because of his misconduct. Will the dissection help the actor to be rehabilitated? Time will tell.
