The most plausible version of why Brazilian superforvarda failed in the final match of the 1998 world Cup in France.

“When the stadium “Stade de France” sounded the national anthem of Brazil before the final France — Brazil, all cameras were fixed on the face of one person. I worked with a film crew for the program “Football club” on NTV, and our task was shooting the entourage storyline, which will tell the audience about everything that was going on around finals beyond the football field.
I saw with my own eyes weeping bitterly young Brazilians in yellow shirts of the national team who spent all the money, and their relatives by buying from speculators for the big money fake tickets. And now sat sobbing on the pavement behind the iron fence of the stadium and never seen Ronaldo or any of the other characters of this finale. At the end of the second half, the space around the stadium bowl was a pretty strange sight.
This is a preview of the match in phone on the road, in public transport or just on the move and in 1998, a portable TV set was a rarity, and they only had machines machinery. That crowd not get into the stadium, each such machine — police, ambulance, fire — watching, climbed on the shoulders of each other in the small screen, feeling full involvement. After all, any dangerous moment was accompanied by the reaction of the 80-strong crowd inside the arena.

While the French were celebrating, the rest of the football community were in disbelief: what happened to the best player of the championship (because it is Ronaldo, not Zidane, as you might think, received the “Golden ball”)? There is no exact answer to this day. There is only version.
It is known that for 72 minutes before the match, Ronaldo was not in the starting Protocol, which Brazil gave the FIFA delegate. Is Ronaldo the match was supposed to start, Edmundo. Ronaldo rushed to the Department of neurosurgery. Examination revealed no abnormalities. Ronaldo this time came to himself and said that he feels fine and ready to play.
