Stanislav Govorukhin has died on 83-m to year of life. The last hours he spent in a sanatorium near Moscow “Barvikha” where media reports he lived and worked for several months in a private VIP room, specially equipped for him.

“At 10:37 in Barvikha sanatorium after a prolonged illness died, died Stanislav Govorukhin, — said the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. — He fought the disease, but she won.”

The first reports of the Director’s death came yesterday morning after the news about his urgent hospitalization in serious condition. But the press service of the leader, and then his wife, denied this information, saying that “he is alive and is not going to die”. Alas, the miracle did not happen. Stanislav passed away this morning.

Govorukhin in his life made more than 20 films, nearly every one of which became a hit. Most famous paintings — “Vertical”, “the meeting Place cannot be changed”, “Voroshilov sharpshooter”, “Artist”, “Passenger”, “Bless the woman” and many others. Last year, Stanislav officially announced his retirement from the movies. His last completed film was “the End of a great era”, which was released on the big screens in 2015.

“I think this is my best picture, he said. — I decided no more lift because I think that it’s better not to do it!”

They say that in recent years Stanislav has worked on three paintings, but what kind of projects and make them good to the audience after such a categorical statement, was unknown. What will happen to these projects, obviously, will decide his heirs.
