A graduate of the University of southern California, Dan O’bannon tried to break into the film world as a screenwriter. He moved to Hollywood and tried yourself to start a career in the field of film production, but failed, despaired and was forced to sleep on the couch at home with his friend, Ronald Shusett also a writer and a novice producer.
“I was in a bad mood. After “Dark star” things were very bad, said O’bannon Michael Tolkien in 1983. When I wrote “Alien”, I was in the worst condition in his life. I had to do something to get out of financial trap. I was determined to write such a script that someone buys and will make a movie”.
Three months later, O’bannon had finished the script to “Star beast”. He wanted to be a Director, and Suzette saw producer. The idea was to earn money no matter whom. But O’bannon felt — needs some visual design to attract investors. So he turned to Ron Cobb, the famous Illustrator and political cartoonist in the “Free Press Los Angeles”, so that he could make a few color illustrations to the script.
The reaction to the script, called “Stranger,” was vague. Although they are interested in a low budget Studio of Roger Corman’s “new world pictures”. But before O’bannon and Shusett signed a contract with Corman, friend of Executive producer mark Haggard asked for a copy of “Alien” to read.
2. The script became interested in because of the scene where the Alien bursts from the body of his victim
The initial design of the eggs from which face-crab thing jumped, depicted what
Giger called “organic vaginal hole”. And when he submitted it
Scott, artistic Director of the Forest dilly, producers Gordon Carroll
and Ivor Powell, their reaction, according to his diary, was “screaming with laughter, I had lovingly endowed this egg inner and outer vulva”

Haggard the story very much, and a few days later, passing by the office writer-Director Walter hill, he gave him the script through an open window. Hill recently opened a company “brandevin Prodakshinz” together with scriptwriter David Galera and producer Gordon Carroll.
And now hill is actively looking for projects that could be developed in collaboration with film company “Twentieth Century Fox”, which was awarded an exclusive contract. Hill was not a fan of science fiction, but the scenario was one scene that attracted him.
Hill felt that the enormous potential of the scene where the Alien bursts from the body of his victim. “Brandevin” chose “someone else”. Almost immediately, hill started for the revision of the script. Together with Gilera they reworked the script a bit deeper.
In March 1977 O’bannon has at his disposal an office on the site of the old rehearsal pad “Fox” and for the visualization of the film by employing, first, his old friend Cobb, and secondly, the British Illustrator Chris FOSS, a renowned Illustrator, author of book covers in the genres of fantasy and science fiction.
