Emine Erdogan

The first lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan at the conference “Mothers of the sultans who left their mark in our history”, which was held recently in Ankara, allowed himself a loud statement:

When we are introduced to works of art, most of them are women possessed by lust for power and pleasure. At the same time, the harems were a school for women, the hearth, where they were preparing for a life, an education, and doing charity work. All of this led the mother of the sultans.

Erdogan’s words immediately caused a negative reaction among users of social networks in Turkey and around the world. Many say that it is strange to talk about education in the harems, where there was never even any books.

Emine Erdogan made his statement the next day after a wave of demonstrations and protests. Of Turkish people staged a rally after the speech of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of International women’s day, which said the following:

The woman is a mother first.

The public blames politics in inculcating Islamic values and the oppression of civil rights of women in the country, as well as in the promotion of birth at least three children per family.

We also add that of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife were repeatedly accused that they are trying to return to strict Islamic norms of morality in a relatively liberal Turkey.
