Maria Zakharova

Official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova danced Russian folk dance “Kalinka-Malinka” at a reception in honor of the summit Russia-ASEAN, which opened yesterday in Sochi. Earlier, during a briefing for Russian and foreign journalists Zakharova told the audience:

I promise that in the evening’s program will be Russian folk dancing. With me “Kalinka”.

Then no one took the words of Maria Zakharova seriously, but foreign Ministry spokesman kept his word. At the evening concert, when the Quartet “Adagio” sang “Kalinka”, Zakharov went to the stage and high heels started to dance the promised dance. The video quickly spread on social media, and at the time of this writing has already collected more than 259 thousand views on YouTube.

However, some have criticized Zakharov, stating that she messed up Kalinka with quadrille.
