Mikhail Efremov flashed in the title role in a new production of the theater “Contemporary”. On the run of the play “Amsterdam” the popular actor brought the audience to tears, appearing on stage in his underwear, in a funny pork pie hat, in a luxury Cherkessk and with his sword unsheathed in his hand.

In this Comedy, the head of the metallurgical plant from Ekaterinburg (Mikhail Efremov), together with his wife (Alena Babenko) comes to the son-the student (Shamil Khamatov) in Amsterdam, where there is very loose morals. So, to visit son comes to his very pretty girlfriend Dolores (Evgeny Pavlov), which actually turns out to be a man.

“Amsterdam” was released long-time friends of the famous theatre and its artistic Director Galina Volchek. Playwright Alexander Galin, who is often called “modern classic”, it had “the Contemporary” the premiere of his seven plays (the beginning of this “theatrical novel” was started in 1983 with a performance of “East stand”, then he continued “Wall”, “Stars in the morning sky”, “Title”, “Anomaly”, “Accompanist” and “Jinrikisha”).

The Director of the show was Sergei Gazarov. He as an artist and as a Director has already interacted with the drama of Galina playing “sovremennikami” “the Wall” and putting together with Oleg Tabakov 1990-m to year “the Roof” in “Snuff”.

Among the actors involved in “Amsterdam”  Darya Belousova, Olga Rodina, Victoria Romanenko and Tatiana Lyalina. The scenography of the performance was done Alla Kozhenkova, music was written by Alexey Aigi and choreographer was made by Alexander Matsko.
