But, as you know, red has no simple meanings – it always excites and leads. It attracts attention and comes to the fore, overshadowing everything else. It is the color of struggle, blood, passion, energy and even aggression, and in heraldry it is a symbol of victory and royal power.
It's not for nothing that many brands use it as a key to success – think of a Ferrari car or Cartier jewelry house or Louboutin red soles or a recent fashion show in Paris by Karl Lagerfeld.
And now, British style icon Kate Middleton opts for a red L.K. Bennett when she and Prince William travel to Wales for the first time as the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Interestingly, the bright coat with gold buttons is called “Spencer”, which immediately reminds us of another stylish princess – the late mother-in-law of Kate Middleton, nee Diana Spencer. By the way, William's mother also visited Wales in a red dress in 1981.
