The ex-soloist of group “Tatu” Yulia Volkova admitted that she had thyroid cancer. But, according to the artist, “the worst is already behind us”.
Volkov said during the recording of the “Mirror for the hero” Oksana Pushkina on NTV, a new character that she became. The singer said that it happened “almost simultaneously” with a former producer of “Tatu” Ivan Shapovalov, who doctors diagnosed with brain cancer:
In 2012, during the examination I was diagnosed with cancer. After necessary tests, the doctors confirmed I had cancer of the thyroid gland.

Also, Julia told me that during the surgery to remove the tumor the doctors made a mistake, she temporarily lost the vote and subsequently underwent three more surgeries to restore vocal cords:
During surgery to remove the tumor voice I damaged the nerve. When I woke up after anesthesia, was about to speak, but I just didn’t have a voice, I whispered. It was the most critical moment in my life.
Volkova also said that to pass inspection, she decided after seeing her dream in which doctors inform celebrities about health problems. In the terrible dream was real.
