Triumph and defeat “La La land”.
If the year
ago those who followed the results of the Oscars, the most
worried about whether DiCaprio finally the long-deserved statuette, in
this year bookmakers take more bets on the winner in the category
“Best film”. The main intrigue of the ceremony of the Academy in this
year was the question: whether “La La Land” Damien Chazelle to beat or at least to repeat the record
established in 1998 by James Cameron’s “Titanic.” After all
the number of nominations (they were 14), declared in January, “La La Land” on par
the famous drama that made Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet
superstars. But if “Titanic” won 11 of the 14 awards for which this movie claimed, “La La Land” was awarded a total of 6 figurines. And yet, as
at least two of the six received awards — among the most prestigious.

During the awarding of the prize for best film at the ceremony was more than an unfortunate misunderstanding. Initially was declared the winner of the film Chazelle. Crew “La La land” has managed to get on stage and get their figurines. But as it turned out, it was a mistake! Someone just mixed up the envelopes. To the dismay of Damien Chazelle, the Academy still has not honored his creation of the Grand prize. Best film of the year was recognized drama “Moonlight”, one of the producers which was brad pitt. So mistakenly declared the “winners” selected awards and gave the team who worked on “Moonlight.”
But “La La Land” went one of the most important prizes for best Director, and it’s got Damien of Sazell. One more figurine “piggy Bank” “La La land” replenished award Emma stone, won the prize for best female role. Emma was quite happy, because this is her first such major recognition by the Academy. But “Oscar” for best actor was presented is still not Ryan Gosling, who starred in the movie Casella, and brother Ben Affleck Casey Affleck an, for the film “Manchester by the sea.”
As for the other nominations, but this year the Academy had to make excuses for the scandal last year. Then the ceremony was criticized for the “racist” approach, because among the winners were almost no people with dark skin. Therefore, a victory for viola Davis in the category “Best supporting actress” (“Fences”), and Maherali Ali — “Best supporting actor” (drama “Moonlight”)— has caused a storm of applause. “We no longer discriminate against people for where they come from. In Hollywood now just discrimination based on age categories and weight!” quipped the master of ceremonies Jimmy Kimmel, hinting that the film industry reigns cult of youth and slimness.
