Famous conductor Valery Gergiev was nominated for the
the prestigious music award “Grammy”, which is awarded to the American
Academy of a sound recording since 1958. This kind of “Oscar”, only the music.
Every year, musicians, producers, composers with a sinking heart, waiting
the announcement of the voting results. For the main award — a Golden gramophone
fighting professionals from around the world.

On Tuesday evening, organizers announced the full list
candidates in all 84 categories of the 60th anniversary award. One of the
nominees became the artistic Director of the Mariinsky theatre Valery Gergiev.
Russian conductor noted in the category “Best Opera recording” for “Gold
Cockerel” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

The CD was released in may 2017. Together with Gergiev
the work was performed by the Mariinsky theatre orchestra and soloists Vladimir Felyauer,
Aida Garifullina and Kira Loginova. The sound made by Ilya Petrov. All of them
also nominated for a Grammy.
