Difficulties arose with the selection of the place of burial. The widow of Andrei Dmitrievich wanted to be buried at home in Tver, but the helicopter transportation of the body was impossible. After that, the relatives were offered a place at the Novodevichy cemetery, but this option did not suit Pugach – the widow of the poet noted that he concludes would not want to be buried there, because I thought this place is “bureaucratic”.

During the life of Andrei Dmitrievich wished that his tomb was situated opposite the place where lay his son, the poet Yevgeny Martynov. Now, however, the area over Novokuznetska cemetery located administrative buildings. In the end, Anna Pugach told “Gazetesi” they stopped on a variant with the Kuntsevskaya cemetery.
