A Grand film from Disney based on Russian fairy tales “the Last hero” has won the hearts of the audience.

The picture appeared on the screens last Thursday, and for weekends only in Russian cinemas earned nearly 450 million. “The last hero” at the box surpassed even the controversial film “Matilda”, also released last week.

The plot is the story of a simple Russian guy named Ivan (Viktor Horinyak), who accidentally enters a parallel world, appearing with fabulous country called Belogorie. In this fantasy world along the most famous heroes of folk tales, such as Koschei the deathless (Konstantin Lavronenko), Baba Yaga (Elena Yakovleva), Vasilisa (Mila Sivaca). The main villain was a barbarian played by Ekaterina Vilkova. To return to the ordinary world, Ivan needs to perform a difficult task to find the sword kladenets.

In the film there are great and complement each other in several genres – fiction, drama, adventure, romance and, of course, brilliant Comedy. Many in the film and the fight scenes, the main star of which was not Ivan and Vasilisa: “For my role I have been trained to fall, to fight, to go with axes and swords. Very proud that many tricks played itself,” – said Mila Sivaca at a press conference dedicated to the release of the tape. Viktor Horinyak, in turn, admitted that not almost no fight scenes, but hinted that they may be in the future – perhaps the audience is waiting for the second part.

“In addition to Russia, “the Last hero” bought for distribution in many countries. For us it was very important to show the traditional Russian fairy-tale characters that not only kids discovered this huge world, but adults remembered, what stories they read and watched in my childhood. The design of each character we reacted very emotionally. People go to cinema for new impressions, he’s going to be surprised, so we looked at all the familiar characters from a new angle,” said the film’s Director, Dmitry Dyachenko.
One of the most memorable characters, of course, was Water in the performance of Sergey Burunov: “My makeup lasted 11 seconds – I wore a strange hat and suit with triangles and dots, such a “condom labels”, I was surrounded by strange people with fixtures and appliances. The river we were filming in the pavilion, but the water temperature was only 3 degrees, besides, I swam in a strange mire” – shared Breakers.

Elena Yakoleva admitted that to play Baba Yaga was her ultimate dream: “Every woman with age begins anew to belong to Baba Yaga. I had to learn to work in complex plastic make-up, but it was very exciting. I would with great pleasure would have returned to this character”.

“The last hero” was filmed on the territory of Russia. Most of the filming took place in the foothills of the Caucasus near Sochi, in particular, in the relict boxwood grove, which today is practically destroyed, and a voracious pest moth.
