The son of people’s artist of the USSR, shared his memories about him. Since, as Yevgeny Leonov died because of a blood clot separation, it took more than 20 years. His successor, Andrew admitted that he did not have time to catch up with a loved one.

58-year-old actor of the TV series “Daddy’s girls” Andrey Leonov told journalists memories of his father. People’s artist of USSR died 24 years ago – in January of 1994. Yevgeny Leonov died because of a blood clot separation, when going to the play “Memorial prayer”. When the star of theater and film were laced up the shoes, he suddenly lost consciousness. To save Evgeny Pavlovich failed.

Years after the death of his father Andrey Leonov admits that he misses him. According to the artist, he was very strict, and often expressed critical remarks to the address of the son. Only after the time Andrew realized why the parent acted.

“My dad and not everything had to talk. Father was always hard on me: much of what I do did not suit him. When we played in the same theatre, he often criticized me on the stage, – says the son of Yevgeny Leonov. But only many years later I realized that that’s the way he showed his concern that austerity was his way of protecting his family from the trouble that could happen to us.”

During the conversation with journalists the son of a famous artist also remembered the difficult period when Evgeny Pavlovich survived clinical death. In 1988, on tour in Germany the doctors urgently did the actor coronary bypass surgery. According to the memoirs of Andrei Leonov, father collapsed at the door of the hospital office, where he went for examination. This circumstance, says the man, and saved his loved one.

“If it were on the street or at the hotel, it simply did not have time to connect to the apparatus artificial respiration, – said Andrey. – Dad was unconscious for 19 days. Worked on a respirator, he lay beneath this equipment. He has already begun gangrene, and ulcer, the temperature was high.”

Medical professionals were very skeptical and began to prepare native Leonova for the worst. According to Andrew, the doctors gave his father one chance in a thousand. However, Yevgeny Leonov was able to “get out” and get back to work. Relatives tried to dissuade star from any difficulty, but he was adamant and wanted again to delight fans.

“After some time he felt the uselessness. Invitations to the movies was not so much”, – says Andrey.

As a result, Leonov says with Sobesednik.ru the famous artist was forced to stay at home. According to Andrew, this pastime was not for him.
