Today opens the 39th Moscow international film festival.
The history of this prestigious forum began in 1935. In “the Drummer”
was the First Soviet film festival in Moscow, and Chairman of the jury was Sergei
Eisenstein.

Then the festival for various reasons, was discontinued, was
established only in 1959 on the initiative of Ekaterina Furtseva and were held every
in the two years.

Annual Moscow international film festival began in 1999, when the President of the festival
chose Nikita Mikhalkov. Traditionally, Nikita will meet the star
guests on the red carpet of the theater “Russia” in the center of Moscow, on Pushkinskaya
