Following a new tradition, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William turned to social media to send their good wishes on this happy occasion.
Megan and Harry have chosen a black and white photo of my grandfather and grandmother Prince riding in an open air carriage with smiles on their faces, to share on Instagram account SussexRoyal. The monarch, who is now 93 years old, even welcomed the crowd his trademark wave in the frame.
“With the anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh! On this day, seventy-two years ago, they were married in Westminster Abbey,” — reads the inscription on the holiday post.

“Many congratulations!” Kate and William have decided to include two photos in your tribute. First, black-and-white picture from the first post-wedding appearance the couples during their honeymoon in which they
smile at each other and join hands. The second photo shows the Queen and Prince Philip recently, but still sharing the laughter.

The pair will hold its 72nd anniversary separately — Philip, 98 years old, is in Sandringham, Norfolk, about 110 miles from London, where the Queen is based in part of their working week.
