July 20, in the Nizhny Novgorod state academic drama theatre named after Maxim Gorky, the opening of II festival of new cinema “BITTER fest”. Guests of the opening ceremony were Nikita and Artem Mikhalkov, Xenia Rappoport, Vladimir Khotinenko, Inga obadina, Vladimir Mishukov Sergey Mokritsky, Anna Churina, Alexey Petrukhin, Elena Valyushkina, Natalia Lesnikovskaya and others.

The first two honorary prize from the hands of the President of the festival Mikhail Porechenkov was given to Director Vladimir Hotinenko (“For contribution to Russian cinema”) and film Director Nikita Mikhalkov (“For contribution to world cinema”).

Getting from the stage of the award, Nikita Mikhalkov, who supported the “BITTER fest” since its founding, remembered that in the last year wished the festival a good start and long, and hopes that it will.

The Director thanked for the award and concluded his speech in his usual ironic manner, noting that the name of the festival “BITTER fest” — a threat: “I wish the members of the jury, once completed the views of contemporary cinema, said that this is a very bitter fest! In any case, just keep in mind that there is also a memorial. Good luck!”

President of the jury for the main competition “Shake” this year was directed by Nikolai Dostal. He got up on stage drama Theater and noticed that his work at the festival in this capacity is not intended to be long-winded. The Director was very brief, simply vowing to judge films objectively, but subjectively and expressed the hope that “these four subjective opinion can have some kind of objective evaluation”.

With Dostal to evaluate the 26 submitted papers will be: Mr. White, Director Irina Volkova and Elena Trench. The competitive program is gathered from paintings of different forms: from short films and kinoalmanaha to experimental video, web series and bold documentary.
