In the capital ended on the anniversary of the festival-2018: the winners and red carpet

40th Moscow international film festival was ceremonially closed – but only until next year.

“The festival’s closing – the moment of the solemn, important, nervous and a little sad. It would seem that it’s only just begun: many individuals, discoveries, meetings, so much beauty, and everything! But no, not all. We will continue to do their job. The festival closed only until next year” – said the hostess of the ceremony, the actress Victoria Tolstoganova. Moscow weather once again experienced the star guests and the press in strength – but the cold gusty wind, breaking umbrellas, and the drizzling rain failed to spoil the Grand celebration of cinema. A special atmosphere and a very loud sound “support” created and held just steps away from the red carpet in military equipment – closing of the festival coincided with the first night rehearsal of the Victory parade.
Triumph anniversary of the show, the jury of the main competition, was the unusual Yakut film “King-bird” Director Eduard Novikov.

Best Director was named Alexander Kott for the painting of the terrible earthquake of 1988 in Armenia “Spitak”. Special jury prize “Silver George” on the right was taken of the Director-the debutant and the star of the show “the Voice” Yang GE, the film is “Nude”.

Best actress recognized the Italian Giovanni Mezzogiorno, “Naples under the veil”, best actor – Kieran Charnock for the new Zealand band “the Lost”. The winner of the documentary competition was the film “Cleaners”, and the prize for best short film went to the Palestinian-Lebanese film Director Rachana, Masi “Candy” – the winner announced French actor Sami Naseri, head of the jury of short films.

Finally, the special prize of the festival “For conquest of tops of acting and fidelity to principles of school of K. S. Stanislavsky. Believe” was awarded to actress and jury member of main competition Nastassja Kinski – hall welcomed it standing.
