In Moscow at the age of 85 years passed away
the famous Soviet film Director Alexander Askoldov. On the death of the Director in

Askold — a graduate of Philology
faculty, Moscow state University, known as one of the researchers of creativity of Mikhail
Bulgakov. In 1966 he entered the Higher Director’s courses. In 1967
as the thesis took a picture of “the Commissioner” based on the story of Vasily
Grossman’s “In the town of Berdichev”. The film was banned. For his painting
Askold was harassed. In the late 80-ies of the film was shown to the public
he has received international recognition.

In subsequent years, Askold did a few
documentaries on KAMAZ.
In 1981-1985 he worked as Director and artistic Director
the concert hall “Russia”. In recent years, Askold taught in
film schools and universities of Germany, Sweden, England and Italy.
