The candid Patriotic painting “Fidelity” impressed the Russian audience not only hot scenes.
Most of the box office, the film has collected over the November holiday weekend, the total amount of fees is almost 50 million rubles. “Loyalty” became famous after the show at the festival “Kinotavr” in June of this year. The film was deservedly named the most candid, and what has never before happened in our movie. There are no more boundaries, because the picture systematically, minute by minute, surely destroys them to smithereens. Tape is already interested and in Europe – “Faithful” will be shown at the International film festival Rotterdam, which will be held early next year – the show will be the official European premiere.
The plot of the film revolves around a very difficult relationship old married Lena (Eugene Gromov) and Sergei (Alexander PAL). She is a talented obstetrician-gynecologist in a private clinic in Kaliningrad, he was the actor of the local theater. They fondly refer to each other, but an important part of marriage – sex, they do not. However, instead of just to sit down and talk with her husband, Lena begins to suspect him of cheating – so she explains for itself extinguished passion in their life. Based on absolutely trivial “evidence” of infidelity, she decides herself to indulge in all serious. After another change she calls her husband and says he is late for work at the clinic almost all night. Instead, she goes to a nightclub, meets with the first available guy and they have already spend a rough night in the hotel room.
And suddenly, unexpectedly to herself, she begins to feel an unprecedented self-confidence, reveals a completely different side of the self. Husband can only watch from the sidelines that his wife is changing, but he can’t understand the reason for this change. Once about the next erotic adventure of Lena becomes known to all.
In the adventures the Lena is to blame, and Sergei himself – he really stopped to pay his wife adequate attention, thus pushing her to the path of suspicion, and then promiscuity. Through the sex scenes, very explicit and even vulgar dialogues heroes, the Director tries to show the psychology of their relationship. At the same time, the identity of the Lena and Seryozha depicted quite superficially, so “Loyalty” is not to be considered a full-fledged psychological drama. Talking about it and oiled the ending can’t be called a kind of redemption of the heroine or logical conclusion after everything that happened. Finally, a picture practically does not affect the theme of love, focusing only on sexuality. Nevertheless, the film deserves all the attention it accumulated – it really is a first and quite successful attempt to raise still forbidden in the Russian movie about sex and relationships in a pair. “Loyalty” pushes to reflect on everyday life and relationships between people, because in order to resolve the seemingly hopeless conflict, sometimes it is enough just to talk.
