Almost all the prestigious awards in the world celebrate not
only feature films but also documentaries, which is not
less fashionable and up to date. The largest
in Russia, the international documentary film festival “Docker” will be held in
the cinema center “October” from 18 to 23 may. The best examples of contemporary
documentaries — more than 50 films from 30 countries will be represented on the court
the audience and competent jury.

The festival will open with a bright Italian drama Simone
Manetti “Ciao, darling, I’m going to fight”, tells the story of a popular actress
and model Chantal Ughi, which became a multiple world champion
Thai Boxing. The film took more than five years. World premiere
the tape was held at the International film Festival in Newport beach, United States. Later on
the film festival “Biografilm” in Bologna, the film was awarded two
awards for Best Italian film and Best debut. Now this picture
you will see in Moscow.

The festival consists of two main competition programs: feature
movies and short films, as well as special sections. All films will be shown
in Russia for the first time. Russian movie on the “Docker” this year, a wide geography
— short “Shanahan Queen” Anastasia Zverkova starred in
Buryatia Republic, “working settlement” Artem Ignatiev — in Karelia. Full-length tape “Reserved seat”
Rodion Ismailov from the main competition was filmed across the country from Moscow to
Vladivostok, like the film “the Road” Dmitry Kalashnikov from the “Let IT
dok!”, which the author fully built of thousands of records DVRs
different ways of Russia.
To determine the winners of the festival will be the audience and
the international jury. The jury of the main competition will include Italian
Director, writer and producer Pietro Marcello, experienced sound designer Ivo
Höger, and a former film critic, now a successful Director and actor Roman
Volobuev.

“I studied Russian movies, often watching old Russian movies and
I shall be glad to come to Russia. I expect from the festival of discovery, inspiration,
a new look. This is an exciting expectations. Also I am very interested to see
the Russian audience to understand that he cares about how he is active and ready for copyright
documentary cinema from other countries. For me, it will be important during
of the festival to experience different emotions together with the Russian audience”, – says
filmmaker Pietro Marcello.
The jury of short films headed by film critic and curator of
The UK Neil young — the representative of the International Federation of film critics
Fipresci. The jury will also include Teresa Sadkova from the Czech Republic and the Russian
traveler, photographer, travel blogger, producer and author of documentaries
projects Olga.
The competition will unfold in eight categories, seven of
which will determine the professionals and one for the audience.
