Many gardeners who grow fruits and vegetables for themselves and their children, try not to use fertilizers, or moving to a safe organic fertilizer. But not everyone knows that such fertilizers can be made with your own hands. How to do it, you will learn from our article.
A bit of theory
For growth, plants need three main components: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These elements are most often found on bags of fertilizers, which are sold in stores. Nitrogen is needed for leaf growth, phosphorus for flower and fruit development, and potassium is responsible for the overall health of plants. But in addition to these basic elements the plant needs more and many other substances, called micronutrients. Among them, for example, magnesium, calcium, sulfur.
Also the health of the plants depends on the acidity of the soil, bacteria that create a suitable environment.
All of these factors can be controlled, making certain fertilizers.
