Environment Opera singer has revealed some details of his struggle with the disease. As it turned out, suffering from a serious illness, the musician is once again faced with the disaster. Doctors can not cope with pneumonia, men, and parents and friends are in the hospital.

For nearly two years, 54-year-old operatic baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky is struggling with a serious oncological disease – in June of 2015, the doctors discovered he had a brain tumor. Several chemistries, radiotherapy… At the end of last year it seemed that the disease has receded – Hvorostovsky gave several concerts around the world, preparing for performances in Moscow and St. Petersburg. And as the bombshell news that the disease had returned. Because of problems with coordination of movements, the artist was forced to withdraw from participation in all performances. But as they say, misfortune never comes alone.

At the end of December he was hospitalised in one of hospitals of Petersburg with pneumonia which developed after a severe cold.

“At the moment it still failed to win, – has shared with “StarHit” the father of the artist Alexander Stepanovich. – Dima was still in the hospital, but not falling down, fighting. Since his body is very weak after various chemistries, for him even the slightest cold is very dangerous. The doctors still can’t figure out how to cope with pneumonia. We are all very worried, always call up. We’ve got my wife and also not going smoothly. Had flu, I had surgery on the eye. But we are already old, that we take”.

Next to Hvorostovsky always his wife Florence. New year the couple met in the hospital. Together with them in the city on the Neva from new York came and their friend, photographer Pavel Antonov. Now they communicate by phone.

Misery, as you can notice, in pursuit not only of Dmitry, but also the people close to him. A year ago, suddenly he lost his first wife, Svetlana, with whom the singer has two children – son Daniel and daughter Alexandra. And last summer Hvorostovsky lost a dear friend and his long-time Director Elena Nedosekin. The woman died from the same disease, which is struggling himself. And just recently, became the first teacher of the artist, Krasnoyarsk, teacher, the honored worker of arts of Catherine Jofel. She died 10 Jan 94-m to year of life.

“I have been told – as soon as the disease is found – that many of our friends gone long before him – continues each Hvorostovsky Antonov. We spent 10 days with his wife in ICU, then a month in Miami. At the speed of 100 km per hour we entered the truck never even slowed down. I’m on the rollers, the wife on the bike.
