Famous operatic soprano Tsisana Tatishvili has died on 80-m to year of life in Georgia. This was announced by the workers of the Tbilisi Opera and ballet theatre, in an official statement on social networks. However, there is no information about the date of the funeral and the reasons for the tragedy.
“Tbilisi Opera and ballet expresses condolences to the family and relatives of the singer and the entire music world. Tsisana Tatishvili was one of the best sopranos in the world, laureate of the state prize named after Shota Rustaveli”, – said in a statement.
The singer became famous immediately after graduation. In 1963, she became the soloist of the Tbilisi Opera and ballet theatre, and continued to work in this capacity for thirty years. During this time, Tsisana Tatishvili won the recognition of millions of viewers and received the title of people’s artist of the USSR.
The artist has consistently participated in the most high-profile productions of Opera and ballet. Her soprano has repeatedly recognized the unique and one of the best in the world.
Also for many years she taught in the Conservatory, engaged in social activities. In 2012 she was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Tbilisi.
