Soviet and Ukrainian film Director Kira Muratova died at age 83. The sad news was announced by producer Yuri minzyanov on his Facebook page.

“Kira Is Gone. With her an entire era. Remember, a student of VGIK cried “Long wires”. Some black days have come, the circle of death”, – said Insanov.

Familiar producer can’t believe what happened. They leave words of condolence to the relatives Muratova and remember what it was. The cause of death is still unknown. Muratova has created such masterpieces of cinema as “brief encounters”, “the Long goodbye”, “Asthenic syndrome”.

In the paintings Muratova starring Vladimir Vysotsky, Oleg Tabakov, Renata Litvinova. The filmmaker ended his career in 2012, but sometimes still attended major festivals. Muratova was reluctant to give interviews, but always talked so deeply that her mind boggled fans.

Muratov lived and worked in Odessa. She debuted as a Director in 1962. Her drama “the Asthenic syndrome” received the Grand Prix of the Berlin film festival in 1990. Before completing creative activities, she worked on the film “melody for a street organ” and “the Eternal return. Casting”.

Throughout my career, Muratova took several awards. Among them are: special jury prize Silver bear at the 40th Berlin film festival (1990), honorary Leopard at the International film festival Locarno (1994), the national prize of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko (1997), the main Arts award (1999, the Berlin Academy of arts), the Freedom prize (2000, the American cinema Fund), the state award of Ukraine of Alexander Dovzhenko (2002) for significant contribution to development of domestic cinema, the prize Golden Duke for his contribution to the film – Odessa international film festival (2014).

Maxim Vitorgan saddened by the news of the death of Muratova. He dedicated to her Instagram post.
