Daughter of singer Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich Elena and Olga burst into tears, standing on the threshold of their family mansion of the St. Petersburg. Because in this house there was a memorial plaque in honor of their outstanding mom and Vishnevskaya etched on her very young — as they saw it in my childhood.

At the opening of the memorial plaque was attended by Director Alexander Sokurov, who not only was friends with the famous musical couple, but also took Vishneve in his film “Alexander” and the conductor Maxim Shostakovich, son of the great composer Dmitri Shostakovich, a close friend of Galina Pavlovna and Mstislav Rostropovich. And the Director and conductor have been in this house during the life of Rostropovich and Vishnevskaya.
By the way, the famous couple in this house at first bought one apartment, and then resettled 34 families and became fully own the building. Vishnevskaya, who grew up in the “sea gate” of St. Petersburg — Kronstadt, especially appreciated the location of this mansion: the building is located near the water and opens directly to the Kutuzov embankment.
