DaBaby has been named one of the “most exciting artists in XXL hop-hop through the combination of talent, charisma and Internet know-how.” 27-year-old musician has already performed along with Megan Thee Stallion and Ty Dolla Sign on Jimmy Fallon and he returns to the broadcast to NBC for its debut in Saturday Night Live! Earlier this year the rapper has gone viral, with his club ready tune “Suge (Yea Yea)” and shows no signs of slowing down with his latest tune “Bop”! Here are 5 things you need to know about the promising rapper before he will take the stage in Studio 8H with presenter Jennifer Lopez.
1. He received the title of “Best new artist hip-hop” at the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2019. DaBaby released his first mixtape more Nonfiction in 2015 under the name of Baby Jesus. He made 12 more mixtapes until he released his debut Studio album, Baby on Baby in March under the label of Interscope. Debut single album, “Suge (Yea Yea)” quickly became popular on the Internet, receiving a coveted place in the annual list of the freshmen XXL magazine hip hop! In October he was named the Best New Leader of Hip Hop in Award BET Hip-Hop 2019 and did not take this honor with ease. “With all these legends, I don’t take it seriously,” he said in his speech, proudly standing next to her mother.
2. He made Forbes from 30 years to 30 years. The prestigious magazine named rapper Jonathan Lindale Kirk in its list of elite 2019. Calling it “no surprise”, the business journal showed the statistics: DaBaby released two albums for the year, both made the Billboard charts — March Baby On Baby peaked the seventh of March, and kirk made his debut exactly on the numeral one. 3. He has already appeared on television several times. The rapper has performed on BET Hip-Hop Awards in October 2019 with Offset, and also appeared with his fellow-XXL freshman Megan Thee Stallion for her single “Hot Summer Girl”.
