The 44th Moscow International Festival turned out to be perhaps the most extreme in recent years – the crazy vagaries of the weather are to blame. The opening of the film review, which took place a week ago, tested the guests with a heat of 33 degrees and haze from forest fires that reached the capital. Closing turned out to be completely different – icy wind, heavy rain and only +15. However, the weather did not affect most of the stars, and they still appeared on the red carpet in light evening looks. Among the guests of the evening were Ekaterina Klimova, Sofya Kashtanova, Daria Kalmykova, Ekaterina Shpitsa, Ekaterina Volkova, Ekaterina Vulichenko, Yanina Studilina, Alexandra Rebenok, Regina Todorenko, Anna Snatkina, Viktor Vasiliev, Lyubov Tolkalina, Maria Konchalovskaya, Lyanka Gryu, Irina Bezrukova, Maria Lobanova and many others.

The jury of the main competition, chaired by Yevgeny Mironov, had a difficult task – to choose the best picture from 13 submitted. As a result, the main prize, the statuette “Golden Saint George” went to the film from Iran “Without prior arrangement” directed by Behruz Shoaibi. “We were sure that we were making a film to once again tell everyone that the main way of salvation is love. Perhaps for me this is the most significant film work, for which I thank the entire film crew who worked on this film for two years,” admitted producer. Also going to Iran were the Silver Saint George awards for Best Short Film – Breeze, directed by Hamidreza Ghazemi, and Best Actress – Peg Akhangarani, No Appointment. Kostel Kashkaval was recognized as the best actor for the picture “The Voice of One Crying in the Wilderness” from Romania.
