There is a new non-profit organization established for the financing and production of feature films and documentaries and television projects devoted to the empowerment of women. The movement is called We Do It. The project mission is to create content that will change stereotypes about women.

This movement was initiated after a Federal Commission U.S. employment interviewed dozens of women holding leadership positions in the field of film and television, and found that women Directors are discriminated against. To date, nearly 16 percent of women get jobs on TV and just 5% in the field of cinema.

The organization We Do IT seeking to change the situation. Finances for the organization shall be to involve the expense of government grants, corporate sponsors and private donations. And the first projects in which to invest organization, will be announced this year at the Cannes film festival.

The organization also will participate in the UN summit, which will take place on 29 February on the theme “Look to the next level: a Conversation with men (and women) in Hollywood”.
