The basis of the new film the famous Director Pavel Lungin went
Novella by Alexander Pushkin’s “Queen of spades” and the eponymous Opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
This is not adaptation, and a new modern look at the story. The movie
participation of Ksenia Rappoport and Ivan Jankowski has already been shown in several
prestigious film festivals and will soon be released in wide release.

Pavel Lungin defines the genre of the film “Queen of Spades”, as modern
psychological Thriller. This is a story about the excitement of life, youth, game,
jealousy, passion, love and the corrupting lust for fame. The movie ties in
dramatic knot fate of three people who love and torture each other.
The main character — the famous last
the Opera singer Sophia. But it is not going to give up, she wants to be a Diva
forever…

In his mad race for fame she manipulates the young
Opera tenor-Andrew, the prototype of which is Pushkin’s Hermann, and
also own niece, a young and inexperienced girl Lisa… Action
played twice: in Opera scenes with the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky and
real life, with casino, theatre intrigues and cash loans.
