16-year-old Russian figure skater Alina Sagitova won gold at the world figure skating Championships, which takes place in Japan.
In the short and long programs scored 237,50 points. For Sagitova this award was the first career victory at the world Championships.
Second place was awarded to Elizabeth Tursynbayeva from Kazakhstan (224,76). Another Russian Evgenia Medvedeva took the bronze (223,80 points). Athlete Sophia Samodurov, speaking for Russia, ranked eighth (208,58).
