“One day he just decided that today’s generation doesn’t understand that he has exhausted itself and now no longer needed. Of course, he deep down knew that people love him for the great work. However, the administration clearly decided that there will be more to remove, and eventually kept his word,” said one of the friends of the Director.

Press Secretary Stanislav S. Maria Shappo confirmed that after the shooting of the film “End of a great era” in 2015, the Director had another idea. He wanted to implement it and has already worked through the script, when all of a sudden decided to refuse to work.

“He wanted to make a film, which would be five stories from the works of great Russian writers. He already came up with the name, and the script worked intensively. Stanislav was just obsessed with this idea, but then at one point just decided that rent will be no more. I think he’s just burned out”, – shared his thoughts to the press-Secretary of the Director.

Abandoning an active creative activity, Govorukhin still not retired from films completely. He regularly visited various festivals, helped their colleagues to develop new ideas. In addition, Stanislav has continued to work in the State Duma and was very proud that he contributed to the allocation of money from the budget for the purpose of famous Directors.

Maxim Galkin also asked for help to Govorukhin. “When I had any initiative on the social side, he always came to help. Carefully listen to, fussed and did everything possible to realize my idea. You know, many stars come into politics just to sit, but it’s certainly not about Stanislav Sergeyevich. He always worked honestly,” – said TV presenter.
