But of far greater interest troupe called the story of the artistic Director Rimas Tuminas about upcoming productions, which this season will be a lot. Indeed, the current, the 97th season in the theatre will be open from six sites: the main and New scenes, the Art-cafe, the scene of the Studio and two rooms Simonovsky scene.

The latter is named in honor of Reuben and Eugene Simonovich who gave Vakhtangov theatre a lot of years. Simonovsky scene is in Kaloshin lane next to the main theatre and will open on 17 November. It opens with a performance of “Night of fools” staged by Ekaterina Simonova (she is the fourth generation of the glorious theatrical dynasty).

The plans of the Vakhtangov theatre for the next season — the performance “the old Man and the sea” directed by Anatoly Vasiliev in honor of the film Director Yuri Lyubimov (before heading to the theatre on Taganka Yuri Petrovich his career started in the Vakhtangov theatre).
