Всемирно известная фабрика Шиндлера объявлена памятником культуры

In 1993 on the big screens there was a film of Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List”. It was a drama about a German businessman and Nazi party member, Oskar Schindler, who during the war managed to save over a thousand Polish Jews.

The basis for the script of the film was the book writer Thomas Keneally “Schindler’s Ark”. Not familiar with the work of this author people believed that “Schindler’s List” — a story about how he tried to survive during the Holocaust. But in fact shown in film history was the place to be in real life.

Oskar Schindler was truly an iconic figure in history, especially for those people and their relatives, which he managed to save. But the fame of this man came after the film Spielberg.

Today it became known that the memory of Schindler, the Czech authorities decided to immortalize in another monument. This time a monument of culture declared the factory of Oscar. At the moment it is not functioning dilapidated building. But the initiators of this idea have a plan for the reconstruction and transformation of an abandoned factory into a cultural object.

In addition, the Czech charity Fund “the Monument of the Holocaust and Oskar Schindler” took the initiative of creating a Museum of the Holocaust on the territory of the former factory.
