Those who want to please loved ones Christmas gifts and decor of their own making, to prepare for the holidays. How about the original triangular shelves that can replace the traditional Christmas tree or will be an excellent showcase for children’s crafts? To make a shelf is not difficult, in this case, it will look great in the interior and after the holidays.
Materials and tools:
- wooden slats (for example, of unpainted pine) one long 2.5 m, the second — 1.85 m;
- wood glue;
- end saw;
- acrylic paint;
- primer (optional).
Making a Christmas shelves with their hands
To start, slice pieces of wood the right size:
- from long strips cut 3 pieces 6.35 cm long, each with angles of 30 degrees at the ends to get then the shape of a triangle;
- short sawn off 3 parts: 59 cm; 42,55 cm, 29,2 cm and 16.5 cm, also with angles of 30 degrees.
When the blanks are ready, glue them reliable glue in the corners to get the shape of a triangle. In place of gluing, put something heavy so that the glue grabbed better.
Leave the shelf to dry overnight. The next day put in the same way inside the shelves and let dry for 24 hours.
Outside of the triangle it is better to dye a bright color, like green or turquoise. Before painting, on a wooden surface makes sense to apply the primer to the paint better lay down.
By the way, before you hang the shelf on the wall, you can add to its inner side a picture of these books in form of shelves to make it look like a real bookshelf!
