Milan Brown was just 21 when she sailed from Tallinn to St. Petersburg for a great love. Dreamed about friendly and strong family, mastered the profession of a psychologist in a prestigious University, loved walking around the city on foot and by bike. “Right after school Milan went to study in Denmark, she is fluent in English, – says the girl’s father, Vadim Kashtanov. But her beloved Irinej Kalachev, with whom they met since high school, chose the Institute in St. Petersburg. Year people suffered in separation, and then my daughter decided to move in with the boyfriend. The matter quietly went to the wedding”.

However, in his native Tallinn Milan returned without a diploma and a husband. The girl was forced to relearn how to speak, move, eat…

Nightmare

Winter 2010 in St. Petersburg turned out to be really snowy. Utilities cleaning could not cope. The city was drowning in snow. With old houses is dangerous hung huge icicles. 5 February day of Milan was in a hurry to study at one of the Central streets. The University had some kind of a couple of hundred meters away, when suddenly the dark… With one of the roofs at the time were hit by the frost, and a huge chunk fell right on the girl.

Doctors only heads shook: with such injuries even until the morning will not last… Contrary to the predictions, Milan survived. However, remained in a coma. “It seemed like everything that happens – some kind of nightmare, – says Vadim. – The verdict of doctors – one worse than the other. Someone said that she will remain a vegetable, others that die from day to day.”

In may of that year, the victim managed to carry home. But in Estonia, the medicine was powerless. There was a hope of the German doctors – they at least agreed to try. After 10 months of coma, the girl came to. The first thing said is “yes”. No, she is not forgotten neither Russian nor Estonian. Just physiotherapists from the clinic in Cologne chatted with the patient unconscious in the English language.

What happened on that fateful day, she can’t remember until now. Knows only the stories of relatives Yes. Erased from the memory, and a few months before the tragedy.

“Scary moments was not considered, – says the father. Two years ago the state of Milan was sharply rhodochrous: stopped us to respond to questions not answered, eyes open but gaze into the void… thought it was the end. Since then has passed eight years. Over the shoulders of young women, has recently celebrated its 30th birthday, dozens of surgeries and a long rehabilitation. And although full recovery is still very far away, and Milan can clearly and coherently to talk, to move one arm, move around in a wheelchair with help from his family. The long road
