The scandal that erupted a few hours before the start of the first semifinal of “Eurovision” in Stockholm, almost turned to a Russian participant to disqualification.
Singer Anastasia Stotskaya, who became a member of the jury of the international competition of our country, conducted a stream in the Periscope and told what the bidder she likes the most. The video has caused dissatisfaction among the participants, journalists and their fans. It took the organizing Committee of “Eurovision”.
“I was warned about confidentiality, not to disclose the results of the vote, in fact, that’s what I did. And about the video, no one knew of us. And I removed myself in order to promote competition, without malice. I’m very worried actually, I am in stress. Of course, this wasn’t done on purpose, I hope that everything is fine will be resolved”, – explained his actions later, Anastasia.
The singer publicly apologized, but the decision about the incident was not known until the start of the first semi-final.
“After constructive negotiations between the EBU and the channel “Russia” the Russian broadcaster has proposed to withdraw that member of the jury who broke the rules, put up a video. As a consequence, the EBU announced the result of the vote of the judge concerned is invalid. The other four judges presented the actual voting results”, – reported the press service of “Eurovision 2016” on its official website.
To date, Anastasiya Stotskaya excluded from the jury. Who will replace her in the competition will be announced in the near future. In the final of “Eurovision”, which will be held on may 14, composed of jury members from Russia should appear to the other person.
