Convicted for rape of a minor resident of Ulyanovsk left a correctional facility of General regime. Sergey Semenov has met close relatives, who managed to secure his early release.

Convicted for rape of a minor resident of Ulyanovsk Sergey Semenov ahead of schedule was released on Wednesday morning, January 10. Close the young man put a lot of effort to achieve mitigation of his sentence. Relatives, Sergey took him from the penal colony №3, which is located in Dimitrovgrad. There, Semenov spent the last year.

Upon his release, Sergei gave an interview in which he answered some important questions. The young man continues to deny his guilt. He claims that Diana Shurygina slandered him. Despite this, Semenov is not going to get justice.

“If she did lie and she did lie, of course, for perjury, she must also be responsible. But knowing the statistics, this is unlikely to happen,” he says.

According to Sergei, he learned a lesson from this situation is not going to prevent its recurrence in the future. If Semenov would be in the past, it would change everything. Speaking of Diana Shurygina and her family, the young man noted that he plans to meet with them.

“Of course, I can’t stand these people. It took quite a long time, and somehow dulled, I guess… I made conclusions about them. Just beginning to understand that to keep the anger at such people is pointless. They do not understand, do they not realize it. I don’t care for her. Not that I thought all this time. (…) I heard that she [Diana Shurygina] has become famous. I don’t think I would like to meet them. I wanted her never to know,” – said Semyonov.

According to Sergey, he’s going to recover at school, thinking about University and work. Everything else, says the resident of Ulyanovsk depends on external circumstances. Two weeks ago he could not think that it will be free. Relatives Semenova are going to support it. Sergei’s sister Catherine could not hold back tears of joy when I saw my brother.

“She started crying immediately and didn’t say anything. Then, seeing friends, I felt that it was all over. It was happiness” – quoted by Semenov Mash.

In prison, Sergei made friends. The young man stressed that everything can be used. Many prisoners sided Semenova, considering that Shurygina slandered him.

Recall that in December 2016, the Leninsky district court of Ulyanovsk has recognized the 21-year-old Sergei Semenov guilty in rape of 16-year-old Diana Shurygina that occurred in March and was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment in a correctional institution. The story has gained considerable attention after the girl and her family took part in shooting of the program “Let them talk”.
