In the night from 4th to 5th March in the USA the long-awaited awards ceremony “Oscar”. The event was postponed to a later date due to the Winter Olympic games held in South Korea. Long before the event it became clear that the main theme of the award will be sexual harassment. After the scandal associated with the name of the American producer Harvey Weinstein, many celebrities have spoken out about the need to tighten legislative measures on this issue.

The leading prize was once again the comedian Jimmy Kimmel. Interestingly, after last year’s ceremony, the comedian said that he is absolutely unhappy with his job, because he was unable to prevent confusion with a false award ribbon “La La land” in the nomination “the Best film of the year”. One of the main sensations of the evening was the win Saw Jordan in the category “best original screenplay”. His band “Off” like not only the academics but also the audience, talking about the huge box office. Horror movies are very rarely represented in the nominations, and a win like this, and completely unprecedented event.
