Ruben Nikolaevich, who nearly a century ago “adopted” the Vakhtangov theatre
from his teacher Vakhtangov, became the founder of a
theatrical dynasty. Together with his son Eugene for many
years to maintain the aesthetics of his teacher. No wonder when there are so
long ago the building of the Theatre.Ruben Simonov gave Vakhtangov theatre
this particular name captured in the name of the room.

The building has an interesting history. It was built in the 30s as a school, and then worked as a kindergarten, different bureaucratic structures, while in the late 80s
years, the mansion did not give Eugene Simonov under the drama Studio. But Eugene Rubenovich before the Grand opening of the theatre did not survive a couple of months. When a couple of years ago the house became part of the Vakhtangov theatre, for half a year it had major repairs done.

The memory of Reuben and Eugenia Simonovich reflected not only in the title Simonovsky scene, but also in the interiors. Everywhere hung portraits and pictures of the father and of the son, the walls in this family favorite blue color. In the foyer also exhibited costumes Simonovich, their personal belongings — recreated area office of Eugene Rubenovich. Simonovsky is present at the scene and the current generation of the legendary dynasty: the first performance will be staging the “Dance of fools”, which plays the grandson and namesake of Ruben Simonov and directed by his great-granddaughter Ekaterina Simonova.

Interestingly, Simonovsky scene will have two halls with 140 seats. One of the classic forms, but in the back of the stage is a large window to the street. And the second has the shape of amphitheatre. And the walls between the halls and not for a specific performance space will change. And the third and fourth floors slania will engage students Shchukin school.

After the premiere of “Tanz der clowns”, Simonovsky stage his play will put Andrey Maksimov (the playwright and broadcaster). In addition, five students of artistic Director of the Vakhtangov theatre Rimas Tuminas prepare the Novella by Stefan Zweig, and
this year the graduates (course Alexander Koruchekova) will play performance “Poverty is no crime”.
